Any interior designer
must be capable of working side by side with building
technicians and so be fully integrated into the
complex process of construction. This taken into
account, there are two major channels of employment
opportunities.
- Freelance interior
design: with the same opportunities that any
profession exercised on a freelance basis provides.
- Commercial or industrial
employment: among the possibilities available
to the interior design professional are positions
with construction companies, interior decorators,
furniture manufacturers, large-scale suppliers
and distributors of furniture and decorative
goods, shops specialising in interior decoration,
and architectural firms.
